Cornish Pirates were caught off guard by league strugglers Birmingham Solihull, who held them to a 31-31 draw. The sides were two tries a piece going into half time, but Birmingham edged out with a 14-12 lead at the break. In the second half, Pirates pushed forward, with Tyrone Holmes scoring five points and Blair Cowen taking his second try of the game. Two conversions from Rob Cook gave the Pirates what seemed a safe 31-17 lead. But the home side were caught off guard by Birmingham, who are yet to win a league game this season. Ben Patson helped stage the fight back, scoring a try and a conversion to the bring the sides level at the final whistle.
