Netminders Jaeger and Murdy leave Coventry Blaze

Coventry Blaze have announced netminders Brett Jaeger and Tom Murdy are leaving the Elite League club.

Jaeger is moving to an as yet unnamed Danish club while Murdy is joining Swindon Wildcats.

Thompson told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "Jaeger is off to Denmark. He's been offered a good contract over there.

"He's a great goalie but just didn't have the team in front of him. He played hard night-in, night-out."

He added: "I'm sure he'll go on to have a very good career in the higher-paying league in Europe."

Securing regular first-team ice time is behind 19-year-old Murdy's decision to drop down to the English Premier League.

Murdy said: "I am really looking forward to next season already.

"Having been a back-up for the last couple of years I am looking forward to starting for the Cats.

"I will be hoping to bring my Elite League experience to the club and help move them up the table."
