Nottingham Panthers hold a two-goal advantage in the Challenge Cup final after beating Belfast Giants 3-1 in the first leg at the National Ice Centre. Despite falling behind to a Colin Hemingway goal, Panthers hit back with scores from David Clarke, Matthew Myers and Jade Galbraith. Galbraith told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Our penalty kill was unbelievable, they were blocking shots everywhere. "It's far from over right now but the ball is in our court going to Belfast." The second leg takes place in Northern Ireland on Wednesday, 16 March. | We want to salvage this season, so to come out and have the performance we did was unbelievable |
"The way we've been playing in the last 10 to 12 games is shocking me, it's shocking everybody," added Galbraith. "We are playing good defence, nobody cares about points, we just want to go out there and win and get to cups. "We want to salvage this season, so to come out and have the performance we did was unbelievable."
