Danny Meyers proud of dominant Nottingham Panthers

Nottingham Panthers captain Danny Meyers says his side dominated rivals Sheffield in Sunday's 4-1 home victory.

Jade Galbraith, Meyers, David Clarke and Rob Bellamy scored for Panthers and Joey Talbot netted for the visitors.

Meyers told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Our fore-check was relentless and it was a very, very good performance.

"I thought we dominated them all over the ice and, as a defenceman, I had a pretty easy night, which goes to show how good our forwards were."

The victory was Nottingham's first over their arch-rivals at home this season and was ideal preparation for Tuesday's Challenge Cup final first leg against Belfast Giants.

"The performance was very encouraging going into Tuesday's game and it is all set up for a fantastic final.

"It was a complete performance against Sheffield. We have been through a lot this year and I think now whatever people throw at us we can handle."
