Clarke sees upturn in Nottingham Panthers confidence

Forward David Clarke says confidence has returned to the Nottingham Panthers side after a run of five wins in a row.

Panthers face Newcastle Vipers at the National Ice Centre on Wednesday night, as they look to close the gap on third-placed Cardiff to three points.

Clarke told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We've got that confidence back and working as one again.

"We've bought into a new system, it's working really well and I am really happy with how things are going."

Panthers beat the depleted Vipers 15-0 in their last visit to Nottingham but have lost their last two previous matches in Whitley Bay.

"They are a hard working bunch of guys, we all know what happened in their place but we have definitely forgotten that and moved on," Clarke added.

"We will be looking to put a performance on in front of our home fans and obviously prove a point after what happened in their rink a few weeks back."
