Nottingham Panthers recovered from a third period wobble to see off Newcastle Vipers 6-3 and record their sixth successive Elite League win.

Panthers raced into a 3-0 lead through David Clarke, Matthew Myers and Billy Ryan, and coach Corey Neilson added a fourth goal in the second period.

Vipers replied through Toms Hartmanis before third-period goals from Jaroslaw Rzeszutko and Hartmanis made it 4-3.

But another Ryan strike and a goal from Danny Meyers ensured a home victory.

Panthers, who beat the depleted Vipers 15-0 in their last visit to Nottingham but lost their last two previous matches in Whitley Bay, have closed the gap on third-placed Cardiff to three points.
