Nottingham Panthers secured a four-point weekend to go third in the Elite League table.

Following Saturday's 12-2 thrashing of basement club Dundee Stars, Panthers had a hard-fought 3-2 victory in Hull on Sunday night.

Player-coach Corey Neilson told the club's website: "Hull played really well and they did some good things.

"We didn't get the puck in deep enough in the first period, but six points in the week, you can't be disappointed."

Billy Ryan, Ian McDonald and Jade Galbraith were on target for the Panthers on Sunday against a resilient Hull, who had been beaten in Newcastle on Saturday night.

"We didn't get the puck in deep enough in the first period but K-wall [netminder Craig Kowlaski] played well," added Neilson.

"We shook the lines around in the third with Jade [Galbraith] alongside Rob Bellamy and Billy Ryan and that seemed to work better."

It was a different story for Nottingham on Saturday against the Stars, as they coasted to their biggest victory of the season

David Clarke hit a hat-trick, Galbraith, Matthew Myers and Dustin Sproat each scored twice, and there was one each for McDonald, Ryan and Alex Penner.
