Nottingham player-coach Corey Neilson has said he could sign Czech defenceman Angel Nikolov on a long-term deal.

The 34-year-old has come in as cover for the injured Jon Zion and is expected to feature in Neilson's line-up at Braehead on Wednesday.

Neilson told the club website: "We've heard good things and Angel could be the answer to our prayers.

"We didn't want to take any risks and we were able to bring in cover. It could be long term, we'll see."

Nikolov is expected to make his home debut against Elite League newcomers Dundee on Saturday.
