Nottingham Panthers defenceman Guillaume Lepine has been given a four-match ban following a home clash against rivals Sheffield Steelers. Corey Neilson's Panthers side suffered a 4-1 defeat at the National Ice Centre on Saturday. Lepine was given a match penalty following a checking to the head in the first period. The Elite League's disciplinary committee handed out the punishment on Tuesday after reviewing the penalty. Lepine's ban starts with Wednesday's trip to Braehead, but the Panthers hope to have a new face in the line-up by then, with the addition of 34-year-old Czech defenceman Angel Nikolov, who comes in as a replacement for the injured Jonathan Zion. Nikolov will make the trip to Scotland, but the club must wait for clearance to play him.
