David Clarke (centre) celebrates after scoring the winner against Cardiff |
Nottingham Panthers player coach Corey Neilson says his side will not become complacent despite four wins from their first four Elite League matches. Panthers continued their unbeaten start to the season with victories over Cardiff and Dundee at the weekend. Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We are not getting carried away but we are thrilled about these games. "Against Cardiff we played really well and it was the same again in Dundee on Sunday night." Panthers, who won 9-4 in Scotland on Sunday, came up against former player Dan Ceman, who is now player coach of the Stars. | 606: DEBATE |
His side have now been beaten heavily in their first three matches, following two defeats to Sheffield to start their season. "The result (in Dundee) was great; performance-wise we had two exceptional periods," added Neilson. "We had a great first and third period but the middle period left something to be desired. "We just got to comfortable and made some mistakes, but the result is what matters at the end of the day." David-Alexandre Beauregard and Tom Norton scored twice and there was one apiece for Neilson, Jonathan Zion, Jade Galbraith, Billy Ryan and David Clarke. The previous night, Panthers came from 3-1 down going into the final session to beat Cardiff 5-4, with David Clarke scoring a hat-trick and Ryan and Beauregard also on target.
