Hull Stingrays will compete in the Elite League this season after being rescued just six days after saying they were going out of business.
Coventry Blaze owners Andy Buxton, Mike Cowley, Paul Thompson and general manager James Pease, have taken full control of the club.
Buxton said: "It's important the Hull Stingrays fans have a team next season.
"Right now, we don't have all the answers but we will get our heads around it and make a success of it."
Subject to league confirmation, the team will now be able to fulfil their opening league fixture on 3 October.
Last season's player-coach Sylvain Cloutier has been confirmed to resume his position with the new ownership.
The Stingrays confirmed they were out of business on 11 August as they were unable to attract a sponsor after the previous backer pulled out despite having a full roster for the new season.
They finished bottom of the Elite League last season and since being elected to the top flight in 2006 have never made the play-offs.
