Cloutier first spotted Christian Boucher playing in the United States |
Elite League side Hull Stingrays have completed the siging of Canadian netminder Christian Boucher from Dutch champions Nijmegen Devils. Boucher, 26, caught the eye of Rays coach Sylvain Cloutier while playing against him for Rio Grande Killer Bees, in the United States, two seasons ago. Cloutier told BBC Radio Humberside: "He carried the load for Rio and when he was there got them in the play-offs. "And last season he led his team to a championship in Holland." Cloutier added: "I wanted to bring in a guy that's a proven winner and talking to his coach in Rio Grande they have nothing but good things to say about him. "I'm just looking forward to getting a goalie in Hull that has experience of winning a championship."
