Nottingham Panthers have signed American centreman Billy Ryan to their roster for next season. The 24-year-old has spilt his time between Philadelphia of the American Hockey League and the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL in the last two years. Player coach Corey Neilson said: "I have spoken to a bunch of guys who have played with and against him and he has all the skills I was looking for. "Billy had injury problems last year but they're behind him now." Neilson added: "He is keen to join us and thanks to our link-up with the fantastic University of Derby, Billy will also be able to add to his schooling too. "He will be an asset to our organisation and he is thrilled to be joining us." Neilson also expects to announce further signings in the next few days, with several of last year's Challenge Cup winning roster expected to to re-sign when the paperwork is finalised.
