Nottingham Panthers' Danny Meyers says he will be spurred on by last year's final defeat to Sheffield, as his side prepare for this year's semi-final.
Panthers play Belfast at the National Ice Centre on Saturday (1700 BST).
Meyers told BBC East Midlands Today: "We have quite a few players on the team from last year and we want to correct the disappoint of losing.
"After winning the Challenge Cup this year you get that feeling you want to win all the time."
Panthers will face either Coventry or Cardiff in Sunday's final, as the pair meet in the first semi-final on Saturday (1300 BST).
This is a showcase for the league and it shows our sport is getting bigger and bigger
Danny Meyers
This will be the fourth finals weekend for Meyers and the semi-finals are the same match-ups as in 2007, when the GB international was part of the Panthers side which beat Cardiff in the final.
Meyers added: "The atmosphere will be electric. I have been telling the guys who haven't been here before how good it is.
"It's going to be a great weekend and hopefully you will see Panthers lift the trophy.
"This is a showcase for the league and it shows our sport is getting bigger and bigger, and it's certainly getting bigger in Nottingham."
