Levers scored Nottingham's first goal on Saturday night |
The two-legged quarter-final between Nottingham Panthers and Edinburgh Capitals is finely poised after Saturday's 4-4 first leg draw. After falling behind, two quick strikes from Marc Levers and Kevin Bergin put Panthers ahead after the first session. Goals from Cameron Mann and Jay Henderson then increased Panthers' lead to 4-2, but Edinburgh staged a late comeback to tie the game. The second leg takes place in Nottingham on Sunday (1600 GMT). Panthers last won the play-offs in 2007, beating Sheffield, Belfast and Cardiff en route to the trophy. Sheffield, who have won the play-offs for the last two years, are in danger of going out. They trail Cardiff 4-2 after their first leg in Wales. In Saturday night's other first leg matches, Coventry won 2-1 in Hull and Belfast beat Newcastle 4-1 in Northern Ireland.
