A Jeff Szwez double helped the title-chasing Belfast Giants to a comfortable Elite League victory at the Odyssey on Sunday night.

Szwez put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute of the game and he completed his brace with the second goal on a power-play after 14 minutes.

George Awada and Craig Peacock scored Belfast's other goals.

The Giants now lie a point behind leaders Coventry Blaze, who also have a game in hand.

Belfast made it 3-0 thanks to another power-play goal in the 37th minutes, with George Awada the scorer.

Craig Peacock sealed the points with a 39th minute strike.

Coventry play Edinburgh twice next week and if they win both games they are champions.

However, if the Blaze slip up it could all come down to the final game against the Giants next Sunday at the Odyssey.
