Paul Thompson hopes to be smiling after Saturday's match |
Elite League leaders Coventry Blaze have been told to improve by coach Paul Thompson when they head to Scotland to face Edinburgh at the weekend. Coventry have a poor recent record against the Capitals having lost their last three encounters. The teams meet north of the border on Saturday before Blaze host title rivals Nottingham Panthers the next day. "We have not played well as a team and they [Edinburgh] have," Thompson told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire. "If you give them that time and that space they have great speed in Owen Fussey, Simon Lambert and Dan Welch. "And they really do have guys that can finish. "Peter Hirsch hasn't played to his ability, our D has been terrible and our forwards couldn't hit a barn door."
