Neilson's side have been plagued by inconsistency all season
Nottingham Panthers player coach Corey Neilson was furious after seeing his side slip to an unexpected defeat at the hands of struggling Hull on Sunday.
Panthers eased to a 7-3 home victory over Edinburgh capitals on Saturday but were well below par in losing 5-4 to the Stingrays 24 hours later.
Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I was throwing sticks and I don't usually get physically upset but today I am.
"Credit to them: they played a good second period but that's no excuse."
On Saturday Panthers eased past Edinburgh largely thanks to a superb four-goal display from David Clarke.
The home side raced into a 4-0 lead with a brace from Clarke and further strikes from Bruce Richardson and Cameron Mann.
Edinburgh hit back to trail 4-3 at the end of a pulsating first session but two further Clarke strikes in the second period and another Mann effort in the third session ensured a comfortable win.
However Panthers were unable to follow that success on Sunday despite taking a 2-0 first-period lead through goals from Bruce Richardson and Jade Galbraith.
Their worst session of the season followed as Hull scored four without reply.
Clarke closed the gap with nine minutes to go, but Jason Silverthorn restored the home side's lead soon after, meaning Dominic D'Amour's late goal was just a consolation.
