George Awada hit two goals for the Giants in Nottingham

Belfast Giants lost a two-goal lead as Nottingham Panthers hit back superbly to win Wednesday's Elite League clash.

A day after their Challenge Cup triumph, the Giants took the lead with Evan Cheverie on target.

David Clarke levelled for the Panthers but the Giants looked in control when George Awada hit two goals in a minute.

However, goals from Danny Meyers and Kevin Bergin levelled the contest in the middle period before Brendan Cook's final-period winner.
