 Meyers wants second place |
Nottingham Panthers captain Danny Meyers is urging his side to end the league season on a high by securing a second-placed finish. The Panthers need to win in Cardiff on Sunday and hope Coventry drop a point against Newcastle. Meyers told BBC Radio Nottingham: "That's been our aim for the last couple of weeks ever since Sheffield won the league. "It's really important to us to finish second in the league."  | If it wasn't for Sheffield having such an outstanding season we could've won the league. |
The Panthers haven't finished as high as second since the Elite League was formed back in 2003. Meyers added: "It'd be great for the club and great for the guys who have been here a while. Forward Matthew Myers is the only absentee as the Panthers travel to his former club Cardiff on Sunday. He will see the specialist early next week to see if he can return earlier than expected from his knee injury.
