Corey Neilson's side are third in the Elite League table |
Nottingham coach Corey Neilson has urged the Panthers to focus on their own games as the race for second spot enters the final week of the season. Panthers are behind second-placed Coventry due to the Blaze having won more games in regulation time. Both sides have two matches to go, with Panthers hosting Belfast on Wednesday and travelling to Cardiff on Sunday. Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We will do all we can do and continue to push on and win games." | "We've won our last four and played good hockey | Coventry host Belfast themselves on Saturday before travelling to Newcastle on Sunday. Panthers need to take maximum points from their last two matches and hope Coventry drop a least a point, if they are to secure their best Elite League finish since the competition's inception in 2003. "We've won our last four and played good hockey and we're building something that's positive," said Neilson. Matthew Myers will be the only absentee for Wednesday's clash with Belfast, with Dan Tessier and David Clarke reporting no ill effects after their return to the ice last weekend.
