Nottingham Panthers netminder Michel Robinson secured a goal shut down with a 6-0 win in his first return to former club Edinburgh on Sunday night.
Brendan Cook scored twice and there were goals for David Clarke, Danny Meyers, Kevin Bergin and Corey Neilson.
Robinson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The guys showed up from the first shift and just made my job easier.
"We got off to a 3-0 start in the first period and from there I just shut the door down."
Robinson added: "I got nervous a couple of times but came out with a big win and it meant a lot for me to come here and have a good game in front of those fans."
The Panthers are now second in the Elite League, five points behind rivals Sheffield Steelers.
Player and coach Corey Neilson said: "Our aim is to be convincing.
"As long as everyone stays convinced that we are in this title hunt and continue to perform at that kind of high level then we'll be fine."
