Sheffield Steelers have agreed terms to sign forward Brad Cruikshank from Basingstoke Bison for the remainder of the season.
The 29-year-old, who scored a career high 30 goals last season, will join the Steelers next week as a replacement for the injured Nathan Gillies.
Cruikshank told BBC Radio Sheffield he is looking forward to the move.
"Me and my family are very excited and I will do whatever I have do to help the team win a Championship," he said.
The power forward will not officially make the move to the House of Steel until after this weekend's games as he must work out his two-week notice period with Basingstoke.
Steelers head coach Dave Matsos was delighted to have signed a player who can offer so much to the club both physically and in front of goal.
"Brad is a player who will really help us out," said Matsos. "Last season he showed he can score - to score 30 goals in a season is no mean feat.
"He is as tough as they come and he will certainly add to our toughness levels as he has fought all of the heavyweights in the Elite League already and done very well.
"I believe Brad will be the power forward that fans have been asking for since the departure of Scott Allison and Jason Weaver. He will be a great addition to us."
