Newcastle Vipers beat Sheffield Steelers in a thrilling penalty shoot-out after scores remained locked at 3-3 on the full-time buzzer.

Vipers forward David Longstaff scored the sole penalty goal to give the North East side the two league points.

Steelers forward Ashley Tait handed the visitors an early lead before Derek Campbell hit an instant equaliser.

Joe Talbot and Rob Dowd then added goals for the Steelers either side of a brace from Vipers' Todd Griffith.
