Jamie Noon has renewed his old partnership at centre with Tom May
Newcastle Falcons centre Jamie Noon has warned his team-mates that form will count for nothing when they host Wasps in the EDF Cup on Friday night.
Premiership champions Wasps have won just twice in eight matches this season but Noon reckons that Ian McGeechan's side deserve full respect regardless.
"You can't rely on how Wasps are playing," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.
"They come with a massive amount of desire, they're aggressive and they come with a winning philosophy."
Since Mathew Tait's summer move to Premiership rivals Sale Sharks, Noon has found himself once again paired with Tom May at the heart of the Falcons midfield.
And Noon is enjoying the return to the partnership of old alongside May, who was moved out to the wing after making way for All Black Mark Mayerhofler at centre in 2002.
"It's a bit of a flash from the past," he said. "It's been a long time since we played together and just getting used to each other again.
"Tom's going quite well so hopefully we can get some sort of partnership going and start tearing sides apart."
BBC Radio Newcastle will be live from Kingston Park for Friday's EDF Cup game against Wasps (24 October, 2000 BST) on 1458 AM, DAB and online.
