Nottingham Panthers forward Bruce Richardson says the squad are determined to put last week's defeat by Sheffield behind them.
Panthers lost 6-3 in Sheffield last Sunday and now have back-to-back matches against Manchester and Cardiff.
Richardson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We realise last week, especially on Sunday was a bad effort from us.
"Good teams are all about knowing the mistakes and to bounce back. We are now ready to turn the page on that one."
Panthers host Manchester on Saturday at the National Ice Centre, before travelling to Cardiff on Sunday.
Richardson added: "When you put a team together like Corey [Neilson] did we have high standards.
"I know we can't win every night but I think in the last game our biggest mistake was we didn't show up."
Panthers had led 3-1 against the Steelers, but a hat-trick from Sheffield-born Robert Dowd turned the game around as Steelers went on to win 6-3.
Richardson said: "We looked at the tape of the game this week and know there are some things we change.
"Maybe we are getting too confident and think we can score five or six. When we get a lead we have to play a better defensive game and stick to the gameplan."
