Peterborough Phantoms director Phil Wing has said picking up three points on the first weekend of the English Premier League was a stong start.
Phantoms were beaten 5-4 after a penalty shoot-out at Slough, then thrashed Swindon 6-1 at home on Sunday.
Wing told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "The challenge of Slough was always going to be difficult for us, and to come away with a point is very good.
"Once you move to a penalty shoot-out it becomes a lottery like any sport."
Phantoms will be looking for revenge when they welcome Slough to Planet Ice on Sunday.
Wing believes last Saturday's result bodes well for the season, and said: "It's shown that we are more than capable of holding our own with the top teams, as Slough had two wins the previous week.
"They're sitting top of the league so it'll be interesting when they come to Peterborough."
Wing is delighted with new head coach Colin Patterson who replaced Phil David during the close season.
"He's certainly adapted very well," said Wing. "He's come in for the pre-season friendlies to get a good feel for the guys around him, and he seems to be working them to the best of their skill sets.
"It's a completely different style to our previous season, which I think will catch a lot of opposition out."
