New Peterborough Phantoms head coach Colin Patterson is aiming for a play-off finish in his first season coaching in the English Premier League. The 65-year-old Canadian arrived at the club after former coach Phil David failed to obtain a work permit. Patterson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I think it's important to try and make the final play-offs. "If we can get into the top four then we'll be satisfied, although you can always hope to get higher." Phantoms have retained the bulk of the squad which finished fourth in the English Premier League last season and claimed the EPL Knock-out Cup. Maris Ziedins, Nathan Rempel and Brent Gough are all back for another season and Patterson is looking forward to getting down to business. "I'm impressed, I think they're a good group, they get along really well," Patterson said. "We're happy most of the players are back from last year." Phantoms kick-off their league campaign with a trip to Slough on 27 September.
