Scott Kelman is Coventry's third new signing of the summer |
Coventry Blaze have announced the signing of Canadian centreman Scott Kelman from Dayton Bombers. Blaze head coach Paul Thompson believes the former first round draft pick of the NHL will be a big hit with the club's supporters. Thompson told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "Our fans are going to like him, he's a big boy. "I like the fact that he really wants to be here. It's been a huge decision for him." The 27-year-old has signed a one-year contract and brings a wealth of experience to the Skydome. "He had a very good junior career. I think they were expecting him to go onto bigger and better things but for one reason or another that didn't happen. "At his age he's normally looking at the American league and the possibility of getting back to the NHL," added Thompson.
