Coventry Blaze kept their dreams of a treble success alive with a 4-2 semi-final win against Newcastle Vipers in the Elite League play-offs. Star of the show was Blaze forward Adam Calder who grabbed a brace of goals as a spirited Vipers were overpowered. An early lead for Vipers was soon cancelled out as Blaze raced into a 3-1 lead by the third quarter. Vipers' player-coach Rob Wilson set up a tense final period when he made it 3-2 before Calder made it 4-2 to Blaze. Coventry, the league champions and British Knockout Cup holders, will meet Sheffield Steelers in Sunday's final.
