The Belfast Giants moved back into second in the Elite League after this victory on Saturday night. Mark Dutiaume put the Giants ahead but the Bison equalised before Shaun Sutter and Shane Johnson struck to give the visitors a 3-1 lead.
Basingstoke fought back to level the game again but Belfast made sure of the points thanks to goals from George Awada and Dutiaume.
The Giants are back in action on Sunday with an away game against Manchester.
