The Giants suffered a second defeat in two days as their Elite League title hopes were dealt a further blow. Joe Tallari put the Phoenix ahead but Peter Campbell levelled for Belfast, who lost to leaders Coventry at the Odyssey on Saturday night.
Goals from Simon Mangos, Tallari, Luke Stauffacher and Tony Hand made it 5-1 before Belfast hit back through Campbell and Scott Cameron.
Brian Passmore sealed the victory early in the final period.
