The Buffalo Sabres advanced to the NHL Eastern Conference finals for the second straight season on Sunday with a 5-4 away win over the New York Rangers. Jochen Hecht scored twice and Daniel Briere had three assists in a victory that completed a 4-2 win in the
best-of-seven second-round series.
Chris Drury also continued his play-off success with a goal and an assist.
The top-seeded Sabres will now meet the Ottawa Senators, seeded fourth, for the right to play for the Stanley Cup.
