Ottawa Senators booked their berth in the NHL Eastern Conference finals with a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. Devils went ahead through Scott Gomez but Antoine Vermette, Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson scored in the second period to seal a 4-1 play-off victory.
Gomez made it interesting with a second goal for the Devils from the right side of the crease with 40 seconds to go.
In the next round the Senators will face either Buffalo Sabres or the sixth-seeded New York Rangers.
New Jersey, meanwhile, are set to move to the new Prudential Center in Newark for the start of the 2007-08 season.
