Dandino won the Vincent O'Brien Stakes at the Derby Festival in June

Lincolnshire trainer James Given believes running Dandino in the Japan Cup will help him improve for the next flat racing season.

The three-year-old, which has won four times this year, will run in the invitation race on Sunday in Tokyo.

Given told BBC Lincolnshire: "Realistically it will be a tough ask to win. The race has only been won once by a three-year-old

"It will be good experience for the horse and set him up for next year."

He added: "It will be the first time he has run against older horses, so far he has only run against his peer group."
