Follow the 2004 Royal Ascot meeting every step of the way on TV, radio, online and Ceefax.

The big meeting takes place from Tuesday 15 to Saturday 19 June.

From the event countdown to live coverage, expert analysis and a look at this year's quirky fashions, the BBC will be following all the action.

TELEVISION

A total of 24 races will be broadcast live from the Berkshire course, the first five races on the card from Tuesday to Friday and the first four on Saturday.

And there will also be a nightly highlights programme for those who have missed the action earlier in the day.

Clare Balding and Willie Carson present the afternoon action, with Jim McGrath calling the races.

Former top jockey Ray Cochrane and Ian Bartlett will take up their positions in the paddock, providing expert commentary on the runners and riders.

Roving reporters Rishi Persad and Lydia Hislop will be mingling with the crowds, and gleaning all the latest news and tips from the jockeys and trainers.

Betting guru Angus Loughran offers tips and advice on the day's market movers.

He will also be operating the BBC Forecaster, which brings together lots of key statistics to try to predict the placings.

Angus will be joined on the Friday by investment guru Alvin Hall to discuss the perils of betting - and perhaps give us a few tips of his own, on and off the track.

Royal Ascot is THE place be seen and Suzi Perry will be our fashion guru this year, providing analysis on what is in, and what is definitely out!

Suzi will be joined during the week by Linda Barker, Yvette Jelfs, Brenda Emmanus, and Jay Hunt.

Thirty cameras will be operating to capture all the atmosphere, including the "favourite cam", which tracks the market leader.

A helmet-mounted camera gives armchair views a realistic feel of what the jockey is seeing during the race while the "wire-cam" high-level unit provides spectacular reverse angle shots.

The event will be broadcast in more than 60 countries all over the world, reaching about 28 million viewers.

RADIO

The BBC Five Live racing team will also be following events at the five-day Royal meeting.

John Inverdale will be joined by BBC racing correspondent Cornelus Lysaght on Tuesday as the meeting kicks off in style.

John Hunt and Luke Harvey will provide the commentaries, while Royal watcher James Whitaker will be on hand to igive a regal perspectibe.

Kevin Day will be out with the crowds sampling the atmosphere, while fashion expert Sacha Wilkins runs her rule over the latest sartorial trends.

WEBSITE & CEEFAX

The BBC Sport website will provide a live racewatch on every day of the meeting, following the action as it happens.

It will also carry all the latest news, results, reports and photo galleries.
