Dicker will captain the Jersey XI against Maidenhead |
Jersey's first XI will play Maidenhead in the third round of the UK Men's Trophy on Sunday. A win for Jersey would replicate their achievements of reaching the quarter-finals in 2007 and 2008. Maidenhead will provide tough opposition, having only lost once in their domestic league this season. Jersey coach Shelagh Herbert said: "It's key for us to switch to a higher level of competition from the outset of the match and work as a unit." Maidenhead play in the South Region Division, which includes teams from Middlesex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Jersey, who beat Bristol and West 4-0 to claim their place in the third round of this year's Trophy, will be without several key players for the tie. Robin Le Quesne, Ross Collins and Stuart Ramskill will all miss the game because of injury. "It is a massive disappointment to be without the experience of Stuart, Robin and Ross for this fixture," said Herbert. "But unlike in recent years, we are in a situation now where if all our players are available we have tough selection decisions to manage. "We also have Bobby Minty, Tom Le Lievre, Simon Hurry and Arnou Helmholt Kneisel back for this fixture, none of whom were available against Bristol and West."
Jersey squad: Jason Weber (goalkeeper), Tom Le Lievre, Simon Watling, Bobby Minty, Mark Wain, James Wetherall, Mike James, Tom Boswell, Simon Hurry, Olly Scholfield, Arnou Helmholt Kneisel, Mark Dicker (captain), Tom Millar, Gordon Hunt.
