Guernsey Under-18s triumphed at New Gilson Hall in St Helier

Guernsey have won the second inter-insular badminton match of the season, with the island's under-18s beating Jersey 18-12 in St Helier.

The stars of the Guernsey win were Glenn Le Tissier and Emily Trebert, along with captain Harry Southwell and Harriette Thoumine.

The four took an impressive total of 10 match wins between them.

Strong performances from the rest of the Sarnian team gave them the six more match victories to secure the win.

Matt Ceresa and Jack Batiste beat Jersey's Brett Coombes-Goodfellow and Jack Gibbs in a thrilling final-set decider.

And then Hannah Spittal and Laura Jouhning squeezed past Caroline Bignall and Georgie Durrell, also in three sets.

Batiste and Spittal then combined to superb effect as they pulled out two straight set victories including a 27-25 second game win over Jack Gibbs and Jess Corbel.

Trebert and Jouhning then pulled off a stunning 23-21, 21-18 victory over their opponents to take the tie 18-12 overall and round off a great day for Guernsey's youngsters.
