Guernsey have retained the RSL Shield after beating Jersey by 20-10 in the first inter-insular match of the new badminton season. Guernsey ladies laid the foundation for success, winning their section 7-2, whilst the men narrowly lost 4-5. Jersey then won the mixed doubles class A 3-1, but Guernsey won both classes B and C 4-0 to secure the overall win. Guernsey's Renee Stuart won the individual trophy, after finishing the tournament unbeaten.
