South west riders Debbie Criddle and Simon Laurens have both failed to get medals in class three of the dressage event at the Beijing Paralympics.

Criddle, from Somerset, finished in fifth in the individual event while Laurens, from Jersey, was eighth.

Riding Pavarotti, Criddle clocked a score of 68.16% while Laurens scored 62.88% on Ocean Diamond.

Germany's Hannilore Brenner took the gold ahead of Denmark's Lykke Dalskov and Germany's Bettina Eistel.
