Norfolk won the inaugural quad title at the US Open last week |
Britain's Peter Norfolk fought back from a match point down on Sunday to clinch the quad singles title at the Atlanta Wheelchair Tennis Masters. Facing American world number one David Wagner, Norfolk lost the first set 2-6 before sealing victory 7-5 7-5.
Defending champion Norfolk now heads to the US Open in San Diego where he is second seed behind Wagner.
Norfolk has won four times in the last six years while his rival is looking for his first victory at the event.
Elsewhere, British women's number one Lucy Shuker claimed her second doubles title of the season at the PTR/ROHO Championships on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
The unseeded pairing of Shuker and Australian Daniela di Toro, who upset the top seeds in Friday's quarter-finals, came from a set down in Sunday's final to defeat American second seeds Beth Arnoult-Ritthaler and Kaitlyn Verfuerth 1-6 6-3 6-1.
However, Liverpool's Jamie Burdekin and Dutchman Bas van Erp had to be content with runners-up spot in the quad doubles at the ITF 2 Series event.
