Phil Taylor is aiming to win the Premier League for the sixth time |
Phil Taylor moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League table with an 8-3 win over his arch-rival Raymond van Barneveld in Cardiff. The 50-year-old has won each of his last seven matches in the competition and remains unbeaten in 12 Premier League meetings against van Barneveld. "I'm getting closer to my best but I'm enjoying it and going on stage with a smile on my face," said Taylor. World champion Adrian Lewis beat Mark Webster 8-1 to stay in the top four. Lewis ruined Webster's Welsh homecoming at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff with a devastating display in front of a passionate sell-out home crowd. He said: "It was tough for Mark. He had all the Welsh crowd with him but maybe he was trying too hard, but it's his first Premier League and he'll become more experienced. "I've shown I can play Gary Anderson in Scotland and win and Mark Webster in Wales and win, and I'm ready for what people want to throw at me." Simon Whitlock beat Terry Jenkins 8-3, and Gary Anderson had an 8-6 victory over James Wade.
