PDC Premier League wildcard for Terry Jenkins

Herefordshire's Terry Jenkins has been given a wildcard into PDC Premier League Darts after reaching the last four of the World Championships.

Jenkins, who finished bottom in last year's Premier League, is one of four wildcards to be invited to play with the top four in the PDC Order of Merit.

"I want to have a real good go at it this year," Jenkins told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"I've got my enthusiasm back, I'll be practising three or four hours a day".

Jenkins, a former antique dealer, admits he lost his passion for the game last year.

"I have found some of it back, two weeks before the Grand Slam I started practising again and the form came back," he said.

"I carried that on for the World Championships, and I did a lot more practice."

Jenkins has been criticised as being an 'exhibition' player, but says the criticism does not bother him.

"It does not hurt me now, at the end of the day I am earning good money so who is going to turn that money down?

"It is good for the sport and promotes it, and a lot of people don't understand the game until they go to an exhibition."

The Premier League opens at London's O2 Arena on Thursday 10 February.
