Colin Tyrer saw off a record entry to claim his third consecutive Billy Moughtin darts title at Willaston's Manor Hotel on Saturday. Tyrer did not drop a single leg until the semi-final stage and went to beat Paul Sertin 3-0 in the final. Sertin received a special prize for the top finish of the tournament after taking out 160 against Wayne Harrison in their semi-final clash. The women's title was won by the Manx number one, Margaret Kelly. The champion put last year's disappointment behind her as she beat the competition's surprise package, Vicki Kelly 2-0 in the final. Organiser, Rob Corrin told BBC Isle of Man he was delighted with the turn out: "We had 110 players this year and it was a really enjoyable day. "In Colin and Margaret we have two very worthy champions and special mention should go to Colin for winning three in a row." The competition is held in memory of Billy Moughtin, a popular local player, who died in a car accident in 2005.
