 Steve Brown twice held the lead |
Bristol's Steve Brown has been knocked out of the World Matchplay Championship in Blackpool after losing to Australian Simon Whitlock. The 29-year-old plasterer, who beat world number five Terry Jenkins in the first round, lost 13-10. Brown twice led at 3-2 and 8-7 in the second round meeting but Brown was dominant after drawing level in the 16th leg. Whitlock faces Jelle Klaasen in the quarter-finals.
