Phil Taylor beat James Wade 10-8 in the final to win the Premier League
Phil Taylor says he is hopeful of staying unbeaten in major PDC events throughout 2010 after regaining his Premier League title on Monday.
"I shall be going for it," world champion Taylor told BBC Radio Stoke.
"I'm going to be training hard because the UK Open [in June] is over three days and you're playing all day, so fitness is most important for that."
The 49-year-old hit two nine-dart finishes during his 10-8 victory over James Wade at Wembley.
It was the first time in history that anyone had done so twice in one match, achieving the feat in the second and 15th legs of the final.
The 15-time world champion continued: "I said to [former World Matchplay winner] Rod Harrington during the break that I thought there would be another nine-darter, because of the way myself and James were playing.
"The daft thing was that I missed a treble 17 to do a third one and the crowd booed. I don't think they were booing me, it was just because the dart hadn't gone in the treble."
The Premier League was the only major PDC title to elude Taylor, from Stoke-on-Trent, in 2009.
His quest to retain the UK Open begins at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton on 3 June.
