Phil Taylor gunning for revenge against Mervyn King
Taylor is aiming to win the Premier League for the fifth time on Sunday
Phil Taylor says he wants revenge against Mervyn King in his Premier League semi-final, after King knocked him out at the same stage in 2009.
The defeat ended his domination of the event, which he had won for its first four years, and he is determined to win back his crown at Wembley on Sunday.
"I couldn't have wished for a better draw because I want to repay him for last year," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"I don't dislike him, I like playing Mervyn because he's a character."
The current world champion continued: "I lost that match, but then won about £1.5m after that, so I wasn't too gutted.
"I'm after it, because if I had won that one, I would have won them all [PDC major titles]. I'm greedy and I love the challenge, because I've got it in my mind now to win it back."
Taylor went through the entire group stage without losing any of his 14 matches, and was only held to a draw twice, once by King in Manchester and the other by defending champion James Wade in Sheffield.
Wade takes on Simon Whitlock in the other semi-final tie on Sunday, with the final taking place later that evening.
The tournament winner will receive a first prize of £125,000.
