Taylor leads Mervyn King at the top of the Premier League by one point

Phil Taylor remains top of the Premier League table following a closely-fought victory over Dutchman Jelle Klaasen in Glasgow on Thursday.

The 14-time world champion held on to win 8-6 in front of a partisan crowd.

"The game was great to play in and the fans had their fun. They pay their money and can cheer or boo for whoever they want," said Taylor.

Mervyn King remains a point behind Taylor following his 8-3 victory over world number two James Wade.

Taylor's next opponent is Terry Jenkins in Exeter on 9 April.
