Thordarson's team are unbeaten away from home since 14 February
Crewe manager Gudjon Thordarson said he was proud of his players after they drew 0-0 at Swindon on Saturday.
The result extended Crewe's unbeaten run away from home to six matches.
Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke: "We are strong when we defend like that, and before the game I would have taken a point from it.
"Credit to my defence, they were solid and against one of the best strikers in the league (Simon Cox), they never gave him a sniff in front of goal."
Thordarson added: "Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ashley Westwood had good chances towards the end but it wasn't meant to be."
Crewe's last defeat on the road came at Leyton Orient on 14 February.
Thordarson handed a debut to youngster Scott McManus on the left of midfield and was pleased with the way he performed on his first appearance since joining from Curzon Ashton in the summer.
"I thought he was excellent," said Thordarson. "Later on I moved him back into the left-back position when Alan Sheehan went off injured, and I think he did well for us."
Crewe are now two points above the relegation zone in League One with five matches left to play.
