A dire goalless draw did little to help the respective survival hopes of either Swindon or Crewe.
The visitors dominated possession in the first half with Alan Sheehan and Gylfi Sigurdsson bringing fine saves from Swindon goalkeeper Phil Smith.
Sheehan then set up a glorious chance for Danny Woodards but he side-footed wide when he could have done better.
Swindon replied with a fierce drive from Hal Robson-Kanu that went wide but could create nothing else of any worth.
